Christmas in July!

Crazy thing happened last night....I booked our department Christmas party!!!!
It seems too early to book a party for Christmas, but last year we had problems booking a place in August for Christmas…so I got a little head start. To my surprise the restaurant was able to accommodate my request because it will be during the week, but they are already booked for every weekend in November and December.

So today I had a meeting with my team and we decided to send out a Save the Date for the event and people really appreciated the early announcement…crazy to think in July we already have to plan Christmas! Can we just enjoy the summer?!? (well except today because it is literally 102 degrees outside and miserable…today a little snow would be great….ok maybe a snocone at least?)

Hmm thinking about Christmas…I do have some a lot of must haves....maybe Christmas is July isn’t such a bad idea….now to pitch this to my husband.

Workin It Out

I never ever thought I would say this but, I am loving liking working out…ok a little, but that is way more then what I would have said a year ago.

The past year I have been on this healthy kick and a road of new beginnings and I am feeling a 110% better.

I have always been overweight--even as a child. My sophomore year of college I was feeling really low about myself and started losing weight by working out 2 times a day, eating barely enough, and going out almost every night (talk about disaster). I was finally happy with my body, but there was no way of continuing this life style. Once I realized how bad this was for me I put every pound back on.

Last summer I decided that enough was enough and started dieting…I had dropped 20 pounds on my own and then my mom, sister, and I joined Weight Watchers for the added support and a true lifestyle change....I have lost 87 pounds at Weight Watchers so over a hundred all together and I feel so much better. I still have more to go, but I am so happy where I am now and the changes I have made for myself….once I hit my goal I will do a before and after post so you can see how far I have come since the beginning (believe me it is not pretty…but very motivating)

I have such an amazing support system…my husband has been awesome, I have my Weight Watchers crew, my mom and sister, and my girls from work who are also WW members and we work out together everyday at our corporate gym…it is so great to have so many people by your side or behind you pushing you to work harder.

Monday Monday

Really Monday…again?
Today was such a Monday too…I am not even joking.

So this morning lying in bed I was thinking about the concert we are going to see in August (btw we are seeing Train and Maroon 5 with a side of Gavin Degraw) and I just so happened to think ok so where did I put those tickets? So after getting all ready for work I started to look around and because I am a control freak/hyper organizer- I thought for sure I would look in my Paris box and they would be there…..(long pause)…..Not there!

So of course I start having a mini panic attack because I have everyone’s ticket…like what if I can’t find them? Will I have to buy all new tickets for everyone? Will Ticketmaster print new ones for me?
My amazing husband calmed me down and told me I need to get to work….so I left with this horrible pain in my stomach.

So I am like half way to work and realize…ugh! It’s Monday and I meet the girls at the gym after work so I turn around and pack my gym stuff and drive back to work…on top of this mess…I hit almost every red light and the highway was crazy busy so needless to say I should have stayed in bed and rewound my mind.

Oh a better note…I had a very productive weekend. We are having a yard sale this weekend and I went through all of my stuff and I have everything ready…plus my house is very over the top organized now (maybe this is how I lost the tickets)
25 purses, tons of clothes, shoes, jewelry, and home items (I am hoping to make enough money to buy my new Coach purse or 2)

It is suppose to be well over 100 degrees this weekend in PA with the real feel at about 110! Hot! Hot! Hot!

Ok Friday let’s go…a little faster now!

Thursday Love

Thursdays are one of the best days of the week for me. I know it is crazy because it’s not even the weekend yet, but I look forward to my Thursday nights with my girls.

Every Thursday evening my sister, momma, and I have a date night and it usually ends up in tears from laughing so hard and an empty wallet because we tend to enjoy shopping a little a lot.

Maria (sister)

Mom

We have been doing this “date” night for almost a year now and it is absolutely therapy for me. We see each other often, but we never run out of things to say and we always have so much fun together.
The night usually ends up with my sister and I laughing at my Mom because she is so innocently funny that it is just too cute for words.

Ok Thursday let’s get moving…I have things to do and people to see.

Closing Time

You know how they say there comes a point in the day when you no longer feel like working….is it bad that I hit that point at ? I think the worst part about this is that after I hit that point I had 2 meetings and a conference call. Opps!

I think tonight might consist of working out with the girls, some much needed pool time, and a little Bachelorette that I DVR’d  and maybe definitely some wine….ok 4:30 anytime now!

Toasty Tuesday

Literally it is like 95 degrees and humid as all get out. Where is the switch for cooler weather? Because this girl’s hair just can’t handle it….Frizz Ease isn’t even working today!

Just a side note…the subject of this entry reminded me of my college days and our daily excuse for going out….we had Mad Manic Monday, Toasted Tuesday, Wasted Wednesday, Thirsty Thursday, Freaky Friday and Saturday we just drank because duh! It was the weekend. I think if I even tried to stay up now past 10--I would die (not even kidding).

This weekend was so relaxing (we desperately needed it-we are always on the go) We literally just hung out by the pool, went to a cook out and did a little shopping. Andrew finished his summer semester with a 4.0 so as promised he could pick out whatever he wanted for his hard work (Best. Wife. Ever.) But seriously I do not even know how he does it…he had Calculus and Physics in one summer session of 6 weeks (talk about intense) I am just so proud of him and his hard work…Good Job Babe!

Leaving today with a picture of my baby love after our 2 hour walk on Sunday…poor baby didn’t move for 4 hours.

Day Dreamer

I can not seem to stop daydreaming today. So much on my mind…usually I am a pretty positive person, but today is just one of those days.

Some reasons for my constant mind wander:
-My husband has been unemployed for over a year and so far he has not been able to find anything even remotely close to what he was making before. One plus to this situation is that he is back in school and working towards his bachelors degree and the military is paying 100% (thank the lord for the Marine Corps)

-My job is not at all where I want to be. Don’t get me wrong….I love the company I work for…I just don’t feel like I am using my mind to it’s full potential and I just keep getting busier and busier at work, but it still feels sometimes mindless and I know it’s a good job…just want more for myself (Dear company, This girl wants upper management....let’s get moving on this. Sincerely, Your Over Achieving Employee)

-The day before my husband lost his job we looked at houses and we were so ready to put a bid on one. (Slap in the face) I am so ready for my own home…so tired of renting.

-I love my baby sister to pieces…but I feel like she is making a bad decision right now regarding a boy (ugh!) and I am trying so hard to put my faith in her that she is making the right one because she is so smart…but it’s annoying that I have to keep telling myself that I need to step back. I wish I didn’t over analyze every little thing and just trust her. She is so beautiful and sweet and I just want the world for her. Damn boys!

-Do I want to go back to school? I have been playing with this concept for months now. MBA? No MBA? Is this even going to help me in my future career plans? Can I even imagine going back to school after graduating 5 years ago? (5 years…omg!!! Why am I getting so old? lol!)

So I keep telling myself that God has a plan for everything and I am a true believer in that….so when does this plan start? (time, exact location, who is there? what am I wearing?) because I tend to be a little bit full on control freak.
